The Role of Social Enterprises in Advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Abstract

Social enterprises play a crucial role in addressing global challenges by contributing to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These organizations operate with a dual mission: achieving social, environmental, or cultural objectives while also generating income. This paper explores how social enterprises align with and advance the SDGs, focusing on their impact on poverty alleviation, environmental sustainability, education, health, and equality. Through a review of literature and case studies, this paper demonstrates the integral role social enterprises have in the global push towards a more sustainable and equitable future.
