Peer tutoring has long been recognized as a powerful educational strategy that benefits both the tutor and the tutee. This study examines the effect of peer tutoring on academic performance and social skills development in middle school students. Using a quasi-experimental design, the study compared the academic progress and social behaviors of students participating in peer tutoring programs against those who did not. The results showed significant improvements in academic achievement, particularly in subjects like math and language arts, as well as in key social skills such as communication, collaboration, and empathy. These findings suggest that peer tutoring can be an effective intervention in enhancing both academic and social development in middle school students.
